RISE is growing and has opportunities for a Vocational Studies tutor. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team and to take a key role in the development of our main vocational stream – cooking, and related subjects around growing food, nutrition, and catering. The post has the potential to progress into a leadership role at the heart of our programme, or may suit an experienced tutor in a part-time position – we will consider a number of options to engage the right person with the skills to move us forward.

JOB PURPOSE
To contribute to the learning and development of young people aged 11-16 on our Key Stage 3/4 alternative provision programme:
• To oversee the curriculum, planning, delivery, marking, examining and monitoring of Cookery and related vocational skills subjects;
• To lead on the development of the Vocational Studies offer centred on cooking & food;
• To support learner development under the direction of tutors and management by contributing to the students’ educational, social and developmental curriculum and participating in its delivery as a member of a co-ordinated team;
• To deliver education programmes to the RISE learning community: centred on educationally disadvantaged young people and extending to the wider constituency involved with them.

Starting pay: £ negotiable / up to 37.5 hours pw
Salary scale: £10 – £15 per hour; equivalent of £19,500 – £29,250 pro rata depending on skills & experience.
