JOB PURPOSE:
  • To champion improved outcomes for children and young people in Leicestershire.
  • To lead the management and development of effective and coordinated services for Disabled Children and their families across Leicestershire, in particular to meet the requirements of government programmes and regulation.
  • To lead the planning and delivery of effective support for young people’s transition into adulthood and adult services
  • To lead Occupational Therapy assessment and response.
  • To contribute as a member of the leadership team to Service Development and evaluation
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent
  • Professional Social Work Qualification
  • Management qualification
  • Evidence of continued learning and development
  • Professional Body Membership 
  • Experience of developing high quality commissioning and procurement services, in accordance with statutory requirements and the strategic business need of the organisation and its external partners. 
  • Experience of managing services for disabled children 
  • Significant experience of influencing partners to deliver within the framework of an overall programme, using leadership, influence and negotiation skills. 
  • Able to use a broad range of resources to research and analyse information and data, provide clear recommendations and decisions, in order to inform service and policy planning.
  • Successful track record of planning, managing and delivering transformation strategies,  programmes and/or projects in time and on budget, securing organisational efficiencies where possible 
  • Working with local authority senior managers, Members or in a political environment. 
  • Actively demonstrating the values of the authority: Being positive; The desire to achieve results; Flexibility; Co-operation; Speaking up.
  • To be Highly analytical and disciplined.
