Nottingham City Council Adult Social Care are looking for Care Workers to join the team at Barkla Close Residential in Clifton.
We have the following permanent contracts available:
Care Worker Level 2
  • 1 X 25.5h/week
  • 1 X 32h/week
Shifts will be worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm according to a rota, and this will include weekends. The successful candidate will work three shifts or four shifts on alternating weeks.
The starting salary is £20,043 (Tier 1) rising to £20,852 (Tier 2) on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time). This equates to £10.39/hour.

Barkla Close in Clifton is a purpose built residential unit for adults with learning disabilities, to engage in short breaks and activities that enhance their health and wellbeing. The home has three separate single rooms and a supported living approach is encouraged, to help develop independence and autonomy.
Care Workers at Level 2 provide safe and appropriate personalised care and support to citizens in a way that that maintains their dignity, maximises independence and gives them choice and control over the way their care is provided.
This includes writing and maintaining individual person centred care plans and the administration of medication, such as keeping accurate records of all medicines dispensed in line with legislation and departmental procedures.
Care Workers at Level 2 are also expected to work and cooperate with other professionals, as well as citizens and their meaningful others, to ensure a shared approach to care and support and continuity of care and treatment.
Level 2 workers must be able to work with a degree of independence and initiative, and be able to respond to urgent situations calmly and efficiently.
  1. Ability to assess social care and health needs and develop, implement, maintain and update Person Centred Care Plans;
  2. Experience of, or ability to, provide support and guidance to colleagues and to be able to deal with emergency and difficult situations;
  3. Knowledge and understanding of the rights, needs and feelings of vulnerable adults from diverse social and cultural backgrounds;
  4. Ability to administer medication in line with departmental policies and procedures.
