The starting salary is £ 49,702 (Level One) rising to £51,733 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Audit & Risk team working as a Corporate Risk and Assurance Manager.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated individual who can work with a minimal level of supervision to join a small and friendly ambitious team.  The successful applicant will have responsibility for Corporate Risk working at a high level across the Council providing advice on strategic risk management.  
 
Risk Management has a high profile across the Council and is well embedded, we are looking for an experienced risk professional to expand on the existing framework and to continue to embed risk management in every section across the Council, assisting service areas in the development, implementation and maintenance of local risk registers as well as developing and maintaining the Corporate Risk Register, facilitating discussions at high level meetings and ensuring that senior leaders and members are fully aware of the Councils high level risks.

 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • Thorough understanding and experience of risk management concepts and processes with experience of working at a senior level embedding and supporting risk management strategies.
  • Experience of drafting Risk Registers and RMAP's using recognised risk management tools and techniques to record and communicate identified risks, mitigations and opportunities.
  • Extensive knowledge of and fully conversant with the concept and use of risk management frameworks, strategies and techniques.
  • Experience of presenting complex information to various audiences, such as Senior Leadership Teams, Members, Boards and Working Groups.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders whilst working across large organisations.
