The starting salary is £20,045 rising to £20,852 on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time)

Safer Housing is made up of several teams and these include HMO Licensing, Selective Licensing, a reactive complaints team and a proactive enforcement team. The role of Licensing Support Officer (LSO) is essential in supporting this work by undertaking administration work for these teams. LSOs will be attached to a specific team to learn and support that area, but there may be opportunities to move around and experience the full range of functions that Safer Housing provides.

LSOs based in HMO Licensing

You will be part of an admin team processing license applications received ready for further decision making and issuing of documents to license holders and ensuring compliance with legal processes.

You will need to be able to respond to general enquiries including housing licensing and advising on the requirements of a license. To offer guidance and advice, by telephone, in writing and in person on basic housing and licensing conditions.  


These roles will support The Housing Licensing and Compliance Team based within the HMO Licensing administration team. You will be part of an admin team processing license applications received ready for further decision making and issuing of documents to license holders and ensuring compliance with legal processes.                              
     
You will need to be able to respond to general enquiries including housing licensing and advising on the requirements of a license. To offer guidance and advice, by telephone, in writing and in person on basic housing and licensing conditions.        
       
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
 
  • Ability to record and enter accurate data into a computer and to follow procedure to generate documents.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge and ability to use a range of IT systems including a variety of software packages in order to word process documents, maintain databases, update cleanse information and use this information to generate documents.
  • Experience in providing customer service with the ability to communicate effectively and in writing, face to face and over the telephone.
  • The drive and self-motivation to work towards team and individual targets to contribute effectively without constant supervision.
