This vacancy is an opportunity to work within the Learning for Independence curriculum of the Leicestershire Adult Learning Service as a Tutor. The Learning for Independence curriculum specifically caters for adults with learning difficulties.
Courses are delivered in a wide range of subjects including pottery, drama, gardening, cookery and local history. The successful candidate(s) will be able to confidently deliver and adapt their teaching and learning styles to meet the needs of all learners.
All courses follow the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement), every learner has an individual learning plan and the accredited courses we deliver are accredited by AIM Awards. Class sizes are between 8-12 learners and each group benefits from a dedicated Learning Support Assistant.
The successful candidate(s) will be working with diverse groups of learners in a vibrant and engaging learning environment. Adult Learning courses are delivered in a variety of venues around Leicestershire, the current vacancies we have are in the Thurmaston, Melton, Loughborough, Wigston, Enderby and Market Harborough areas.
This is a sessional tutor role and will be paid on submission of a pay claim at the end of each month. The hours indicated are paid at an hourly rate which includes provision for face-to-face teaching time and non-contact preparation/training time which will be outlined in a working pattern letter. The advertised hours will predominantly be during the 30 weeks of our academic year.
