The starting salary is £26446 (Level One) rising to £28226 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rat for part time workers).

Nottingham City Council is undergoing a digital transformation, changing the way we operate and making it easier for customers to access our services online. To support our transformation we are looking for a talented Digital Quality Assurance Tester to join our Digital Team.
You will collaborate with developers and project teams/service areas to determine the testing requirements for new projects. You will be responsible for creating, reviewing and implementing specific testing plans and process maps.
Working with different service areas across the council, you will create customer scenarios that will help shape the design and customer experience of new online services.
As new digital services are created, you will work closely with Developers to create robust testing plans and scripts, ensuring that new online services and back office processes meet the needs of the customer and the business area.
You will carry out initial testing of new online services (with NCC developers) to agreed testing plans before coordinating and managing user acceptance testing with teams across the council, recording changes and iteration needed to ensure a smooth release of new services.  
You will have exceptional attention to details while screening for errors, and refining usability throughout the development and implementation process.
This is a hybrid working role that will involve working from home as well as at the councils main headquarters (Loxley House) and other NCC sites.

  • Experience of working in testing role, creating testing plan, coordinating UAT and documenting and recording testing outcomes
  • Knowledge or experience of creating customer scenarios that can be used to support the development of online services
  • Be able to clearly document issues or changes identified through initial testing and UAT, providing clear record of changes required
  • Experience with software tools such as Visio for mapping out workflows
  • Have a good understanding or experience of the project lifecycle involved in the development of online service
  • Some experience and knowledge of testing online services or systems to ensure that they meet agreed requirements.
