JOB PURPOSE:
To support and facilitate the work of volunteers across a locality. To support volunteers to work with children, young people and families who are at risk of poor outcomes and in need of additional support. To assist, promote and enable parent participation in the Children and Families Wellbeing Service.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Good standard of education NNEB/NVQ3 or equivalent in Childcare, Youth and Community, Health and Social Care, IAG, Community Regeneration.
- Significant experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of inter-agency work
- Experience in delivering training
- Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child
- Understanding of risk and protective factors including the principles of effective practice
- Knowledge of child development and an awareness of differing needs of children and young people
- Ability to work as part of a team and in a multi-agency context, including the ability to operate in a variety of different settings with both clients and professionals.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including presenting information to professional partners; good recording, administrative and report writing skills
- Good organisational, planning skills and working to deadlines
- Proven ability to engage with people from a variety of backgrounds, in particular those children, young people and families that are hard to reach
