Assistant Engineer (Grade 11) Salary from £33,558 - £36,231pa
Job Purpose
• To assist with the preparation, prioritisation, design and delivery of highway maintenance programmes of work.
• To ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner as possible.
• To be responsible for technical advice to Members, partners and stakeholders on programmes and projects to ensure appropriate communication and dialogue takes place, including writing reports
• To support the performance management of services and teams through contributing to the departmental business planning process as required.
• Identifies and develops new commercial opportunities to generate income and manages costs effectively.
• Responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Council policies.
• To deputise for the manager where appropriate.
• To assist in (and lead where required) the preparation, prioritisation, design or delivery of highway maintenance programmes of works, to ensure that these meet current standards, and that works are delivered to time, quality and cost.
• To assist with the commissioning and management of providers for all types of highway infrastructure related works and to help identify and develop supply markets.
• To assist in the management of project teams, to ensure the effective and efficient provision of appropriate customer focused, high quality services in accordance with County Council policies, Government and legislative requirements
