This new and unique role in the Health Improvement Team in Public Health at Leicestershire County Council will support the programme delivery for children and young people (CYP) across Leicestershire to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.
This role will provide a response to the challenges CYP face following the COVID-19 Pandemic and will seek to protect and improve physical and mental wellbeing, reduce loneliness and social isolation and enhance the delivery of the Leicestershire Healthy Schools programme to improve CYP health outcomes and attainment.
Key elements of this role will also include direct delivery (e.g. programme / training delivery) to schools, CYP and key partners and stakeholders. Therefore, the successful candidate(s) will have a good understanding of the local and national school system, good knowledge of local CYP health and wellbeing needs and will be a clear and confident communicator.
Whilst the focus of the role will be to improve health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities in our CYP population, this role will be working across various health disciplines, including mental health, RSHE, physical activity and more.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in programme delivery / co-ordination to CYP
- Experience of delivering / working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communicator, including the use of presentations and training delivery
- Demonstrable experience of event planning and delivery
- Good understanding of the school and education system
- Working knowledge of health promotion activities across a range of topics
- Ability to form excellent partnerships and woking relationships
