An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Leicestershire County Councils Adult Social Care as a Community Reablement Workers, working in a Mental Health Team and in the Young Adult with Disabilities Team.

This role requires the delivery a community-based enablement and inclusion service, which supports people to learn or relearn skills, reduce social isolation, encourage people to be a part of their community and become as independent as possible. Community Reablement Workers benefit from an understanding of the recovery principles and frameworks in mental health, to work with people to identify, and work towards their individualised goals. A variety of strategies, tools and techniques are used, to work towards practical solutions in improving mental health.  

Key skills; 
  • An ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to manage complex situations relating to a person’s mental health, to ensure that they remain safe.
  • An ability to positively motivate and identify strengths in individuals, in a timely manner due to the short term nature of the support offer.
  • A confident communicator, working  closely with partner agencies forging strong working relationships to enable collaborative working.
  • An ability to utilise community assets and neighbourhood services.
  • An understanding of a variety of mental health conditions and how they can impact people.
  • A passion for the promotion of healthy lifestyles and positive choices in mental health management.
  • An ability to manage a caseload and prioritise risk appropriately.
  • Appropriate assessment skills to enable the completion of strength based progression plans to work towards independence.
  • Are innovative and creative in seeking sustainable solutions to build on strengths and abilities to achieve positive outcomes.

The post holder will be provided with an office base, however due to the nature of the role you must have the ability to travel to other areas across the locality. Due to the pandemic, our staff are currently working from home. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30 – 5pm and Friday 8.30 – 4.30pm. Flexible working can be considered.
