Pensions Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Nottingham City Council's Pensions team as a Pensions Assistant.  In this role, you will support the Pensions Team in dealing with all aspects of the administration of the Local Government, Teachers and NHS pension schemes to ensure accurate, timely records are maintained in line with Pension Scheme Regulations.  
You will determine  relevant calculation methods and calculate pay figures, payments and estimated pension details for all retirements and redundancies.  You will maintain accurate and up to date records, and prepare and provide sometimes complex computations, statistical and other data relating to pension and redundancy costs, TUPE transfers and year end work.  
In return you will work in a supportive team with plenty of opportunity to develop your experience of pensions administration.  This role offers flexible (hybrid) working with the facility to work from home available. 
  • A basic knowledge of pensions, or more specifically the Local Government, Teachers or NHS pension scheme regulations.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and clearly, orally and in writing with a wide variety of customers and colleagues.
  • Possess a high level of self-motivation and ability to make a positive contribution to the effectiveness of the team.
  • Experience of working with computer database systems, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
  • Confident numerical ability, with ability to carry out calculations quickly and with a high degree of accuracy.
The starting salary is £20,043  (Level One) rising to £20,852 (Level Two)  on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).
