This is an exciting time to be joining a Council that keeps both staff and citizens?at the heart of everything that it does.
Nottingham City Council is seeking experienced social workers who are ready to take the next step in their social work career and step into a senior practitioner role in a busy fieldwork team.  You will need to be ambitious for children and their families, organised, determined and energetic, but also reflective and empathic. In Nottingham City we have high levels of need and deprivation and our teams of frontline practitioners are focussed on supporting each other as well as supporting the families who receive our services. We work in partnership with relevant agencies and families to achieve good outcomes for children. Nottingham is an early intervention city and we have invested in the use of therapeutic, multi-systemic approaches to work with families to achieve long lasting change and support frontline social work practice.
As a Senior Practitioner you will work closely with the Team Manager to mentor and support less experienced workers, to drive performance and maintain a culture of continuous improvement as well as holding a small caseload of complex work.
There are a number of positions available within the fieldwork service across the city, both part time and full time as well as permanent and temporary posts (which have the potential to become permanent). We welcome applications from qualified Social Workers who have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the frameworks that underpin Social Work practice and, are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve positive outcomes for children, by working in partnership with families and professionals to develop SMART plans to meet the needs of children.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Professional Social Work Qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Direct experience working with children in a child care setting
  • Possession of full driving licence and access to a vehicle
