Looking for 2 PA’s
Hours: 14 hours between 2 PA’s

I am a 20-year-old young woman who has multiple disabilities, mental illnesses and chronic illnesses. I am a full-time powerchair user, I transfer using a banana board and a hoist occa-sionally. I need a personal assistant to help me with personal care, domestic duties and social activities. I am ideally looking for two PAs to work opposite shifts who I can form a long term relationship with. At my age, it’s very hard for me to have ‘carers’ so I would like to feel as though my PAs aren’t carers but assistants to enable my independence.

Main Duties:
Personal Duties:
• Helping me to take a shower, using a hoist to transfer me onto a shower chair.
• Helping to brush and blow dry hair, experience in styling long hair is very welcome!
Domestic Duties:
• General domestic duties including washing up, doing the laundry and taking the bins out.
• General housework including mopping and hoovering the floor, dusting and disin-fecting worktops.
• Assisting me to prepare meals.
• Making and changing my bed.
Social Duties:
• Accompanying me to social activities and helping with toileting needs if required.
Other duties:
• Collecting medications from the pharmacy.
• Assisting me to prepare meals.
• Helping with organisation of paperwork etc.

These duties may vary from day to day.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you may be requested to undertake other tasks as and when required commensurate with the role of a Personal Assistant (PA).

Essential Qualifications:
• Driving Licence
• As personal care is involved I would prefer a female PA. This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b).
• High standards of hygiene and food preparation
Preferred:
• Experience with mental health care
• Experience with using a hoist
Qualities looking for in person:
• Flexibility
