Job Purpose:
• To be responsible for the management and organisation of accommodation to meet the high expectations of customers for a variety of events, activities at Beaumanor Hall and Activity Centre.
• To ensure the provision of high quality, maintenance, health and safety, security and cleanliness of Beaumanor Hall and Activity Centre.
• To undertake day to day site specific co-ordination of allocated premises officers, cleaners and grounds staff for the supervision of Beaumanor Hall/ Activity Centre. The maintenance/ security of the associated buildings to include Tithe Barn, Beacon Hill Café and Century Theatre.
  
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To liaise with the Hall and Activity Centre managers to allocate premises/cleaning and grounds resources to meet business needs.
• To attend project meetings and co-ordinate resources for premises/cleaning and grounds as required.
• To manage, allocate and monitor the standard of the work of the Beaumanor premises, cleaners and grounds teams.
• To monitor attendance and conduct of staff, identify training and development needs.
• To assist in the management and monitoring of a number of premises related budgets, making appropriate changes to planned work/developments in the light of ongoing expenditure to stay within budget.
• To monitor stock levels of cleaning and other materials, order as necessary and store appropriately to ensure that cleaning and other work can be carried out in accordance with laid down schedules and safety instructions.
• To implement a programme of ongoing maintenance and improvement/new work, identify the most appropriate resources (e.g. Premises Officers, external contractors) to achieve timescales.
• Undertake/oversee risk assessments relating to Beaumanor Hall, Activity Centre, Tithe Barn, Beacon Hill Café and Century Theatre to ensure customers and staff have a healthy and safe workplace/environment.
• To develop and oversee effective security systems and procedures throughout the buildings (including security checks when the Hall is closed) liaising as necessary with County Hall, Emergency Services and outside firms to maximize the security of the site and its contents and to reduce likelihood of fire and opportunities for vandalism.
• To ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times and that all staff comply with any risk assessment, safe working practice or other legislation relevant to their work.
• To ensure the safekeeping of all premises equipment and other items used by the teams, monitoring the condition to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.  Maintain a list of substances as required under the COSHH regulations.
• To undertake the locking/unlocking of the premises, cleaning, minor repairs and maintenance, layout of the hall and other rooms, to ensure that events  can take place without delay or disruption and that Health & Safety requirements are complied with.
• Oversee and undertake part of the daily cleaning and grounds maintenance of the Hall and Activity Centre ensuring that the work is completed to a high standard and complies with safe working practice.  Liaise with contractors as necessary.
• Deputise and provide operational cover for all LTS catering operations as appropriate.
 
Special Factors
• The nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours to include all Public/Bank Holidays.
• The role is based on a working pattern of any 5 days in 7, including weekends.
• A uniform will be provided and is to be worn at all times.  Protective clothing will also be provided and must be worn as required by the duties undertaken.
• The postholder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.
