Job Purpose
• To oversee Events and Civic Catering.
• Prepare and deliver events, working closely with other departments.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To be front of house for day and social events, and oversee the presentation of foods for conferences, social events, and weddings.
• To take all pre- meetings & organise all planning towards delivery of events
• To oversee the Bar for delivery of events (stock control and staffing)
• Processing of invoices after each event.
• Rota front of house staff in line with each event (including staff training)
• Support the BDM with new sale leads.
• To provide effective leadership and take responsibility for ensuring that team development needs are met.  To manage resources effectively.
• To deal with difficult or complex problems referred by junior staff, which may involve senior managers within the County Council, suppliers, contractors or members of the public.
• Any other duties of a similar nature related to the post which may be required from time to time.
 
Special Factors
• The nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours to include all Public/Bank Holidays.
• The role is based on a working pattern of any 5 days in 7, including weekends.
• The postholder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.
