We are looking for new tutors to teach foreign languages to adults, especially French and Spanish, in venues around the county, particularly at Melton, Hinckley, Coalville, Loughborough. Most courses are in the evening, once a week for 2 hours each session, but there are some daytime opportunities. Teaching minimum 2 hours per week term-time, but there could be opportunities to teach more courses depending on location and learner numbers. The ability to travel between centres is vital in order to reach more groups.  
Please mention in your application the centres you are able to travel to for teaching. Our centres are in Loughborough, Coalville, Melton, Hinckley, Enderby, Wigston, Market Harborough.  Most teaching is face to face in classrooms, but we also have some online delivery opportunities too.
We are now planning our programme to start September 2022 and have some specific vacancies as above, but would also welcome applicants who can offer other languages which might be able to expand our range of languages.
 - We would like tutors to inspire, motivate and raise the aspirations of learners through their enthusiasm and knowledge. 
 - You need to be able to use ICT regularly for communication and for teaching preparation and delivery.
 - You must have an understanding of how to use ICT to support outstanding teaching and learning. 
 - You must be able to complete all course paperwork and record keeping (some online) in accordance with quality assurance policies. 
 - You must be able to carry out initial and formative assessment, including online methods, to identify levels and learning goals and complete learner records of progress. 
 - You must be able to use a variety of relevant and innovative teaching methods in the classroom, face to face or in an online situation via Microsoft Teams to support differentiation, including the use of ICT.
 - You should be able to create a learning environment where learners can reach their full potential. 
 - You must be able to promote the benefits of using technology to your learners, including the use of class pages on Moodle (our online learning platform) to support work outside the classroom.    
  • A nationally approved teaching qualification, preferably to teach adults
  • A degree/subject specialism or equivalent in the language you want to teach
  • Recent experience of teaching the language, preferably to adults
  • Ability to use relevant teaching materials and techniques to support learning, including the use of e-learning technology
  • Must have Level 2 maths, English and Level 2 ICT or equivalent skills
  • Ability to use ICT for professional communications and also to use as a teaching approach
  • Knowledge of the Professional Teaching and Learning Standards and their application, in order to deliver outstanding teaching and learning
  • Must be flexible to travel to different centres around the county during the daytime or in the evening as required
