Environment & Waste Management Technician

An opportunity has arisen within the Waste and Environment Initiatives Team. The successful candidate will assist in the development and delivery of initiatives, services, events or projects to encourage behavioural change in regards to waste prevention, reuse and recycling and environmental matters such as climate change and biodiversity loss. They will also support reaching our net zero ambitions. They will assist with the preparation of reports, monitor budgets and evaluate the effectiveness of the initiatives. Additionally, they will support the delivery of volunteer schemes including the coordination of training courses.
The role will require someone who can work on their own initiative and as part of multi-disciplinary teams. They should be able to work to tight timescales, to agreed targets and have a customer focused approach to doing their job.
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, BTEC National, NVQ3 or equivalent
  • Experience of project planning and evaluation
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
