Salary Details: £15847.78 - £16817.51                       
Working Hours: 24 hours per week (including some evening meetings) commencing August 2022 
  
Applications invited for the position of Finance Officer/Assistant Clerk

JOB PURPOSE:          
• To be responsible for the financial affairs of the Town Council and support the Town Clerk in providing detailed financial guidance to the Council.
• Responsible for all financial transactions and ensuring that all book keeping entries are recorded accurately in the Council’s accounting system.
• Responsible for all financial aspects including raising invoices, posting to account ledgers, payment of invoices, bank reconciliations.
    
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:        
• Understanding of and practical ability to use SCRIBE financial system (Training can be provided)
• Knowledge to process all bookkeeping related transactions and postings
• Knowledge of accountancy processes including year-end close down of accounts
• Knowledge of running SAGE payroll
• Excellent written, typing & verbal communications skills
• Knowledge of word/excel plus experience in use of IT
• Previous experience of Local Government desirable
