In response to a continued rise in demand, Leicestershire County Council has undertaken a whole system review of our arrangements to support children and young people with special educational needs. We have already restructured our SEN Assessment Service, introduced a full range of new decision making processes and embarked upon a £30m capital investment programme.
An opportunity has now arisen for two experienced and inspiring SEND Specialists to drive the next phase of work.  Working directly with senior SEND Managers, and case managers you will do crucial work to embed our programme of change and support a culture of inclusive, child-centred practice.  You will report directly to the Assistant Director for Education and SEND, with close day to day working with the High Needs Block Programme Manager.
This is exciting and dynamic work, developing child-focussed and cost-effective services in partnership with our corporate change team, inclusion services, education effectiveness and all relevant agencies, as well as  the local parent carer forum (the Leicestershire SEND Hub).
Two posts are available; the priority focus areas of each post will be allocated based on each successful candidates experience although the proposed split is outlined in the attached background information.

We are on a journey to be an inclusive department where a culture to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded and discrimination challenged at every level together as a department.  We warmly welcome those from all cultures, ethnicities and beliefs - this diversity is vital to our journey and is fundamental to our values and enriches the services we offer our children and families.
