Young lady in Loughborough is looking for additional Personal Assistants to join her team of energetic, creative individuals. This team provide 24/7 support within her own home, and she is now needing someone to cover sleeping nights, hours over the weekend and other ad hoc shifts – so you will need to be flexible and willing to work on this basis.
She would like someone to motivate and support her emotionally and physically to manage this exciting new chapter in her life – studying for her degree at University and looking after her own home. Her interests include Rugby and keeping fit – particularly attending the gym. It’s a must that you are a dog lover as she has a beautiful labradoodle called Rosie, so long walks will definitely be part of the job description, along with helping her to explore social, recreational activities of interest in the local area, and support with introduction to these if needed. Prompt and encourage to complete household chores in a supportive manner. Advocate on her behalf if necessary when out in the community.
This role is all about promoting independence and enabling a young person to maximise their opportunities.
Experience of working with young adults with high functioning autism and related mental health difficulties are an advantage, but more important is a willingness to learn how these conditions impact on an individual’s everyday life.
Access to a vehicle and a clean/current driving license essential. There will be occasions when you will need to be available to accompany her to visit family who do not live locally.
