Leicestershire Libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing information and advice, activities to improve wellbeing and develop skills, supporting those seeking employment and sharing a love of reading with people of all ages.
     
This role is responsible to ensure continuous effective service delivery across a range of Communities and Wellbeing services, through the management of staff in libraries and other venues.
     
The Melton library group consists of Melton Library, Syston Library and a Mobile Library vehicle, the base being Melton library.
   
You will:
- Carry out the day to day management of C&W staff and resources across the area including training, development and APRs
- Ensure that a high level of customer care is maintained, staff are well informed and that they have the necessary skills to provide a welcoming and efficient front-line service to our    customers 
- Assist in ensuring local maintenance of standards across the group including maintaining an attractive and relevant appearance for service users
- Support the frontline delivery of campaigns and services in line with the annual service plan through liaison with key C&W staff
- Participate in the cost-effective deployment of staff and monitor budgets accordingly
- Contribute to the maintenance of health & safety standards
  
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 4 GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent, ECDL or alternative IT qualification, NVQ 2 or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a service environment
  • Knowledge of the value if libraries, heritage and arts sectors
  • Manages time effectively to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met
  • Effective day to day people management of the team
  • High level of customer service standards are maintained
  • Effective communication is required across Communities & Wellbeing staff, internal and external partners, and other departments
