Social Work Team Manager – Duty Services
  
The starting salary is £43,857 (Level One) rising to £45,859 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.
   
During the pandemic the team are working on a part office part working from home basis.
  
We are seeking an experienced qualified and registered Social Worker to join Children's Services at Nottingham City Council as a Duty Team Manager.
   
As a Social Work Team Manager, you will have the ability to manage a team of social workers who have a complex and varied caseload, whilst also offering support to all members of the team. You will be resilient, adaptable, and capable of working effectively as a strong team player who values the strength of working in a person-centred manner.
  
As a Team Manager, you will have responsibility for the delivery of high quality social work services through a child's journey, you will have support from the Service Manager, you will be working closely with the Senior Practitioner and Social Workers within your team to ensure that the right actions are taken at the right time, in the best interests of children and their families.
 
You will be responsible for ensuring high quality and timely assessments lead to effective planning and interventions with the most vulnerable children and families within your locality.
  
You will bring a diverse range of skills and are able to demonstrate a flexible approach and clear understanding of child safeguarding. We are seeking someone who can work with partner agencies, internal partners and families to achieve positive change for children and their families.

Duties of this Social Work Team Manager role:
• To provide effective strong leadership, management and direction of practice by advising a team of staff, as directed by the Service Manager and Principal Social Worker.
• To oversee the maintenance of practice standards and drive continuous improvement of high professional standards and practice within your team.
• Contributing to service improvements and developments within an agreed work plan linked to the Children and Families fieldwork service plan.
• Act as a lead within the team in the area of good practice, emerging research, case law and relevant policy changes and disseminating relevant information to service areas via worksite and team meetings/briefings.
• To monitor and take responsibility for the effectiveness of social care services for children and their family cases within your team ensuring case work is performed to the highest standards of practice for the most complex cases involving issues of significant harm and /or complex need ensuring positive outcomes are achieved.
• Ensure the recording of information throughout the process is both timely and provides accurate and timely information to ensure the Local Authority delivers all of its statutory responsibilities
• Be active in improving ongoing standards of service delivery across the service, utilising ICT systems for recording and quality monitoring.
    
Essential requirements of this Social Work Team Manager role:
• Social Work England registration
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Hold a full UK drivers' licence and have access to a vehicle
• Extensive experience in a children and families working environment
