Salary Range: £20,496 to £21,750 - starting at £10.62 per hour plus holiday entitlement. 
   
The Leicestershire Registration Service are looking for customer focused individuals to become part of their team of marriage and civil partnership officers.  This role requires the officers to attend and register or perform marriages and civil partnerships at the Register Office, approved premises (hotels and stately homes) and certain churches and chapels, on a zero hours ad hoc basis.  The privilege and responsibility of officiating at a wedding or civil partnership means that our officers have to be calm, adaptable and overall be kind on what is quite often an emotionally charged day.
 
Ceremonies take place on weekdays as well as weekends and Bank Holidays, so good availability is essential for this post. 
          
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy
  • Experience in a responsible public facing role, ideally dealing with people face to face and in circumstances where customers could become upset or aggressive
  • Working in a role requiring them to be punctual, conscientious, flexible and adaptable
  • The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post
  • Articulate and confident in a variety of situations including public speaking in a calm, authoritative manner and with a clear speaking voice
  • Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal hours when required, including weekends and Bank Holidays
