Clinical Mental Health Specialist CAMHS SPA starting salary £38 890 level 1, rising to £40 876 Level 2 on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers)

We are looking for a skilled Clinical Mental Health SPA Specialist to work on our Single Point of Access wihin the Targeted CAMHS Citywide Service. The post holder is responsible for the clinical decision making and the process and oversight of all of the screeining and triaging for all city CAMHS referrals that come into the Emotional Mental Health Pathway (City Single Point of Access).The post holder will also provide leadership and management for the SPA admin team.
  
The post holder will  have at least 2 years post qualifying experience in mental health and working with mental health disorders with children and young people, excellent risk management and safeguarding skills. The successful applicant will support and advise on the SPA teams work and processes and will work innovatively and collaboratively with other partner agencies and services.
  
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to make robust and clear clinical risk assessments and safety plans, to implement these and record these clearly and accurately and review these as required
  • Relevant professional/registration MA/MSc in related subject in mental health/therapy
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of the screening of referrals that come into the SPA and the ability to make clinical decisions on a wide range of referrals and prioritise risk/need
  • At least 2 years experience (post qualification) of delivering effective interventions that support children and young people who have complex, extensive and mental health/safeguarding/high risk needs
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders, child development/attachment and ability to recognise and manage child and adolecence mental health issues at each stage development.
