We are a leader in our field, known for our innovative work with children with special educational needs and disabilities, our schemes of work and innovative turntablism offer as well as our more traditional high quality bands and orchestras, such as the renowned Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO). We are looking for individuals who want to contribute to shaping our vision as we grow.
  
This post involves leading the band and orchestra rehearsals that take place on a Saturday morning from 9:00am – 1:00pm on the Wigston College Campus and working to support conductors to provide performance opportunities for our young people.  The post also involves working with our team of pastoral workers. There are currently seven bands and orchestras rehearsing on Saturdays during term time. The post also covers our central groups rehearsing on weekday evenings although the post holder will not need to regularly attend these rehearsals. (Big Band, Clarinet Choir, Concert Orchestra, Flute Choir, Intermediate Band, Intermediate Strings, Junior Concert Band, Junior Percussion Ensemble,Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra, Senior Percussion Ensemble, Steel Pan Ensemble.)
  
The salary for the post of Central Bands and Orchestras Lead is based on a Grade 11. The contract will be 629 hours based on an annualised hours contract (34 weeks of the year, mainly term time but some holiday work will be involved) and so will be pro rata of a Grade 11.
