The starting salary is £7,847 (level 1) rising to £8,008 (level 2) on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time)

  • Maintaining passenger comfort in accordance with their Travel Care Plan. This may involve undertaking low level medical interventions including oral / nasal suctioning, administering Buccal Midazolam (epilepsy medication) and administering oxygen. 
  • To provide caring, responsive and effective support whilst escorting passengers with complex physical, mental and / or developmental disabilities including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism and Asperger’s syndrome.
To include: 
  • Ensuring the safety of vulnerable passengers remains paramount whilst they are being transported between sites. This will involve correctly operating a tail lift to board passengers in wheelchairs and stretchers and ensuring they are properly secured using specialist equipment for the duration of the journey to avoid serious injury.
  • Liaising with clinical nurses, carers, parents, school and day centre staff and Passenger Transport Services to ensure the acute and specialist needs of the Council’s most vulnerable service users are communicated, understood and met at all times.
  • Complying with the principles of standard infection control precautions at all times to prevent the spread of infection
