An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Waste Policy and Strategy team at Leicestershire County Council.

The Council is looking to recruit an experienced strategic waste management officer to support the development and management of the Council’s strategic outcomes in respect to waste.

As the successful candidate you will support the development and management of Council and partner strategic waste documents which includes the Leicestershire Municipal Waste Management Strategy which is currently under review. You will support delivery of the Developer Contributions process and administer the coordination and development of consultation responses to national and local waste consultations.

A flexible ‘can do’ attitude and strategic approach are key attributes for the role. You will possess good communication skills, be able to build stakeholder relationships, possess a strong customer focus and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Candidates should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience of contributing to and developing strategies and policies
  • Experience of successfully coordinating and delivering projects
  • Competence in the use of IT to analyse and interpret data  
  • Knowledge of waste legislation, policies and procedures
