The Job
We are looking for someone to play a key role in our rights of way team, managing our countryside network within Nottinghamshire. Key areas of responsibilities will include: -
  • Planning programmes of maintenance and improvement works to ensure a safe and available rights of way across the Nottinghamshire countryside.
  • Manage the design and implementation of rights of way maintenance and improvement works, whilst managing budgets.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints or enquiries to internal and external stakeholders such as landowners, local authorities, developers and local communities.
  • Provide expertise to key clients as required including on planning, highways and other internal or external consultations
  • Planning to protecting and/or providing future benefits, of the rights of way network in Nottinghamshire.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Investigate, review and assess any infringements to the rights of way network
  • Maintain accurate asset records
  • Work collaboratively with teams to provide specialist technical knowledge as required.
The Person
  • Ideally you will have previous rights of way experience and knowledge of rights of way legislation.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of people at all levels.
  • The desire to work outside on the rights of way network, in countryside settings.
  • Undertake regular site visits on the Nottinghamshire rights of way network.
  • Use your own initiative to resolve issues and problems proactively.
  • Working knowledge of land management practices.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team, supporting each other as required.
  • The ability to maintain records and write reports as required.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
