Salary Range £28,704 - £32,241 Pro Rata (18.5 hours per week).
  
Leicestershire Libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing information and advice, activities to improve wellbeing and develop skills, supporting those seeking employment and sharing a love of reading with people of all ages.
  
This role is responsible for helping ensure the sustainability of our 35 Community Managed Library’s (CMLs). You will help to develop and support our CMLs and their mainly volunteer workforce and build strong and effective partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  
You will:

- Be responsible for the development and implementation of plans to enable Community Managed and delivered Libraries to meet corporate priorities and service objectives by connecting them both to the wider library network to remain relevant and sustainable within their community

- Enable communities to become actively engaged in the management and delivery of library services including delivery of annual reviews, network meetings and attendance at Community Managed library cluster meetings.

- Manage, distribute and monitor S106 funding and other devolved budgets associated with community managed libraries

- Support trustees/library management teams by providing information, training, advice and guidance, on any library strategic and operational procedures e.g. Stock Maintenance, Activities and campaigns

- Assist trustees to identify any potential fundraising opportunities for their library. To increase awareness of community funding opportunities and support communities to submit bids for funding.

- Coordinate and deliver the training and ongoing support of volunteers across the network to enable the effective delivery of the library service in Community Managed libraries.

- Any other duties that enable the successful delivery of community managed libraries appropriate to the grade of the post.
  
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent level qualification/experience or Library or information qualification or equivalent Training or coaching qualification
  • Experience of Working within a community/customer focussed setting or a library
  • Experience of leading, motivating, and supporting volunteers
  • Knowledge of how libraries can contribute to a wide range of social, learning and economic agendas
  • Ability to create plans that detail clear objectives and links with other associated plans and priorities.
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to meet changing demands.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative, enthusiasm and motivation, creativity and innovation.
  • Demonstrate commitment to community development values of empowerment and collective action.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to Equal Opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations.
