The starting salary is £25,991 (Level 1) rising to £27,741 (Level 2) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period, (pro rata for part time)

Daily Activities: 
- To provide line management to the Licensing Support Officers, ensuring the provision of an efficient and effective Proactive Enforcement Service supporting the Principal Environmental Health officer managing the daily processes of the service.  To also provide a support service for Environmental Health and Safer Housing. 
- To take an active role developing and delivering processing systems and front line services. 
   
Essential Requirements: 
   
1. To undertake day to day supervision and management of the team of licensing support officers including performance management.  To take an active role in developing and setting up new processes and procedures across the department to support financial monitoring, auditing, quality control and customer feedback. 
2. Ensure that all required information is collected and accurately entered and recorded to enable proper processing of licence applications following a laid down procedure and templates, liaising with relevant people as appropriate.  
3. To respond to more complex issues as well as general enquiries from clients, partners and other colleagues within the council including licensing enquiries and necessary advising on the requirements of licenses.  To offer guidance and advice, by phone in writing on basic licensing housing and environmental issues. 
4. To maintain computerised and other records.  To assist in the provision of statistical and other reports.  To carry out word processing, database and spreadsheet compilations and other computerised processes as required.
