An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Strategic Property Services Team.

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing Valuation and Estate Management services for the County Council and external clients, duties will include dealing with the service of notices, negotiating leases, lease renewals and rent reviews. Arranging for, or undertaking, property inspections, records of condition and dilapidation schedules. Aid monitoring of expenditure and prepare accounts for service charges, including reading meters, apportioning charges etc. The issuing of instructions and orders for work and services and arranging authorising payment of accounts as directed. To progress with a portfolio of work related to the acquisition/disposal of property from inception to completion, including any associated agreements to meet corporate targets and deadlines; negotiations for acquisitions may be by agreement or compulsory purchase and in the latter case, to assist in the assessment and settlement of compensation claims. You will accompany prospective purchasers in viewing properties and prepare Heads of Terms for minor sales and acquisitions and compensation claims.

You will be required to prepare valuations, as required, for all types of property and a full range of purposes including market value, rent, rating, insurance, and asset valuations and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of valuation principles and their practice.

Ideally, we are looking to recruit a Valuer at Grade 11 (£32,987 - £35,607)

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Land Management (or Similar)
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Previous working experience in a professional property environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with the management of property including rent reviews, lease renewals, taking leases etc.
  • Some experience in dealing with planning issues or assisting in this
  • Some experience in acquiring and disposing of a range of types property or assisting in this
  • Some experience in valuing a broad range of different types of property or assisting in this
