Following a successful bid by LLR Violence Reduction Network and working in partnership with Leicester City Council, The Reach Project is a Home Office funded programme providing intensive mentoring support and diversion to children at potential risk of becoming involved in serious youth violence.

The project aims to prevent this by working alongside education providers, police and other key agencies to identify and engage with children who are most at risk of school exclusions as well as other vulnerabilities which could be the precursors to concerning behaviours and poorer outcomes

The Reach Project will utilise evidence-informed interventions; building longer term trusting relationships with children aged 10-17 years old with a priority focus on children at transitional periods. The project will focus on key secondary schools in Charnwood Locality.

The project will be subject to monitoring and evaluation by Sheffield Hallam University

Team Leader – Reach Project will be responsible for:
  • Working as part of a multi-agency team to identify, screen and allocate referrals for children
  • Supervising and managing the work of the Reach Project Youth Workers
  • Analysing data and information to produce reports to funders and research organisations

This is a new and exciting project working closely with Leicester City Council and local education providers (Charnwood Locality) to identify children at risk of school exclusion and through strong, collaborative relationship-building ensuring that children are supported to remain in full-time education to improve their future outcomes

We are looking for a person who has experience in managing and developing teams committed to providing longer term mentoring support to children to bring about positive outcomes and thereby changing lives. Postholder will be required to work flexibly which will include evening and weekend working
