Oakfield Short Stay Primary is a Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) 30 place pupil referral unit in Leicestershire. Our school is split over two bases, North (Shepshed) and South (Earl Shilton). Pupils on roll join our school following either a permanent exclusion or dual registration. During their time with us our team work exceptionally hard to make sure  every child achieves success and realises their potential. This post will initially be based at our Shepshed base. 
We are looking for an ambitious practitioner who:
  • is able to ensure progress of children with challenging behaviour
  • has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • is professional and can lead a team of teaching assistants
  • can demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and supporting children reintegrate back into primary schools
  • is an excellent classroom practitioner with KS1 and KS2 experience who can inspire, motivate and have the confidence to share this with teachers across Leicestershire
  • is resilient, can respond positively to challenge and has a sense of humour

Experience of working with pupils with SEMH and ASD is preferable.
