The work of the Service includes related processes such as Annual Reviews, Tribunals and transition to adulthood. There is a clear focus upon customer service and effective case management.
Following a comprehensive review of the Service we have now put in place a structure that is designed to be as responsive as possible to families, children and schools.  The new structure will see a clear distinction between Team Management and Case Management, with three Team Managers organised into three geographical Teams, overseeing the work of a total of 18 Case Managers and 3 Senior Practitioners.  Supported by a range of other key roles around performance management, quality assurance, commissioning and financial oversight, the new service will ensure that all decision making is child centred, outcome focussed and consistently focussed upon inclusive practice.
Working as part of a Team you will be particularly involved in working on more complex areas of work including mediations and Tribunals, and the whole range of EHCP processes, from needs assessment, decision making, drafting of plans, and case reviews. You will also be in a mentoring/ advisory role for the Case Managers within your locality, supporting them to extend their knowledge and confidence. You will benefit from regular personal and group supervision and will operate within a clearly defined set of procedures and guidelines.
You will need the organisation and time management skills to manage a large caseload and Tribunal timescales. This role represents a fantastic opportunity for anyone with the necessary background knowledge, commitment and ability to digest complex information, to stretch themselves and become involved in case work that will make a real difference to the lives of children and families.
