Leicestershire Libraries & Museums are at the heart of our communities, providing information and advice, activities to improve wellbeing and develop skills, supporting those seeking employment and sharing a love of reading and history with people of all ages.
This role is responsible to ensure continuous effective service delivery across a range of Communities and Wellbeing services, through the management of staff in libraries, museums and other venues.
Market Harborough library is integrated with the Harborough museum and based within The Symington Building alongside many other partner organisations.
You will:
• Carry out the day to day management of C&W staff and resources across the area including training, development and APRs.
•  Ensure that a high level of customer care is maintained, staff are well informed and that they have the necessary skills to provide a welcoming and efficient frontline service to our customers.
• Assist in ensuring local maintenance of standards across the group including maintaining an attractive and relevant appearance for service users.
• Act as an effective liaison with C&W staff to ensure good communication and consistency of service.
• Support the frontline delivery of campaigns and services in line with the annual service plan through liaison with key C&W staff.
• Participate in the cost effective deployment of staff and monitor budgets accordingly.
• Contribute to the maintenance of health & safety standards.
• 4 GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent, ECDL or alternative IT qualification, NVQ 2 or equivalent
• Experience of working in a service environment
• Knowledge of the value of libraries, heritage and arts sectors
• Manages time effectively to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met
• Effective day to day people management of the team
• High level of customer service standards are maintained
• Effective communication is required across the Communities & Wellbeing staff, internal and external partners, and other departments in this busy multi-service site
