Leicestershire County Council Trading Standards are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Trading Standards Officers with proven experience of investigations and enforcement work.  Our aim is to support local businesses to compete fairly and protect communities by robustly tackling unfair trading practices.

Our Trading Standards Service covers a broad remit of legislative areas and we are looking for officers with an equally broad set of skills to fill posts across all our service delivery areas. You will manage your own workload, supervise and mentor colleagues and lead on undertaking enforcement activities, providing advice and investigating matters such as unfair trading practices (including doorstep crime and fraud), food standards, product safety, illicit tobacco, animal health & feed and weights and measures.
You should be a proactive individual with experience of supervision and mentoring and a comprehensive and confident working knowledge of CPIA, PACE and the RIPA framework.
