The Environment and Transport’s Business Support Team are recruiting a Team Leader role based at County Hall. The role is to support the department by providing a professional, flexible and efficient service to ensure effective management of the Business Support Team
  • To provide daily management and workload to the team negotiating deadlines prioritising work streams and providing training.
  • Process complex or variable types of documents or information which may require complex calculations, collecting monthly performance management information and reporting to management.
  • To manage and administer formal meetings, including disciplinaries ensuring accurate minute taking, arrange events and presentations.
  • To use databases to produce summaries and analyses of information involving manipulation of data and creation of reports as required.
  • Taking a lead role in the co-ordination of facilities management activity including working across the department to ensure all Health and Safety requirements are addressed
  • To lead as departmental Fire Evacuation Officer and manage a team of evacuation volunteers in an emergency following correct procedures. Also provide training to the volunteers.
  • BTEC National, NVQ3 or equivalent qualifications, or GCSE Grades 9 - 4 or equivalent in Maths and English (NVQ Level 2)
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Experience in arrangement and administration of formal meetings, including accurate minute taking.
  • Clerical experience in a range of tasks, including word processing, data entry, filing, photocopying message taking
  • Recording, monitoring, analysing and presenting financial information
  • Being able to organise tasks to meet competing priorities
  • Knowledge of using MS Office applications to a high standard
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Interpersonal skills to relate to people at all levels, both within the department and externally.
  • High standard of verbal and written communication skills.
  • To be based primarily working at County Hall
