Leicestershire EPS is a high quality and growing service. We aim to apply psychology creatively and collaboratively to empower and inspire others to promote inclusion and learning, wellbeing, and positive futures for all.
We are now seeking further innovative and forward-thinking EPs to join our service. We have a good balance of experience and newly qualified EPs. We would welcome applications from registered EPs or those who are in Years 3 of their doctoral training.
We are a friendly and skilled team of Educational Psychologists, currently organised into two virtual but co-located teams covering North and South Leicestershire. All schools in Leicestershire have a named EP to offer information and advice and to build positive working relationships. We use an allocation system for statutory work that supports EPs to manage their workload, as well as provide as much consistency for children, young people and schools as possible.
We are a partially traded service and are well regarded, with demand for our commissioned work growing year on year, which currently includes:
  • Service level agreements with individual schools, academies and multi-academy trusts
  • Consultation as an approach, along with locality-based multi-agency forums to build capacity in schools and early years settings.
  • Centrally delivered training and capacity-building work, including ELSA, Supporting schools with Staff Resilience and Wellbeing and other training developed by our Educational Psychologists.
As our service continues to grow, so do opportunities to engage in other work to support inclusion in Leicestershire. Leicestershire County Council has the vision of becoming a trauma informed and responsive organisation. Now is an exciting time to join our Service!
We are committed to supporting the development of the profession and enjoy strong links to the training programmes with opportunities to become Trainee EP supervisors.
Leicestershire EPs have access to whole-service and individual CPD opportunities as well as individual, group and peer supervision arrangements. We are based in a well-appointed central office and have access to first class facilities within County Hall, Glenfield. Flexible working is encouraged, and EPs have access to local ‘touchdown’ bases across the county to reduce travel time and ICT equipment for mobile working.

We particularly welcome applicants from black, minority, ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities, as they are currently under represented within our workforce.
We are on a journey to be an inclusive department where a culture to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded and discrimination challenged at every level together as a department.  We warmly welcome those from all cultures, ethnicities and beliefs - this diversity is vital to our journey and is fundamental to our values and enriches the services we offer our children and families.
