The starting salary is £19,698 (Level One) rising to £20,493 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

The IT Service Desk supports over 6000 employees and partners with their IT and telephony requirements, providing a front line IT customer service. Service Desk Technicians learn to use a wide variety of technological tools to administer systems, investigate, diagnose and fix issues.  You will be dealing with customers over the phone, via self-service support tickets and face to face as part of providing an appointment based IT service for customers where we are not able to support or resolve their issues and requests remotely.
       
This is great opportunity for anyone with who has prvious experience of working in an IT environment as part of a fast paced front line customer service team, with experience of providing excellent customer service and would like to develop their knowledge and improve their troubleshooting skills learning to resolve issues with various devices, applications, networking and telephony. You will work as part of a very friendly and supportive team and will learn to support and provide system administration for various in house systems including creating/amending/deleting user accounts and various other tasks.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Experience of working on a first line helpdesk / service desk and providing customer service functions in an IT environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Awareness of Microsoft systems such as Office 365, Exchange, Active Directory, VoIP telephony.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic laptop, network, software and application problems and provide work arounds.
  • Experience of carrying out routine system administration/configuration and installations of software and hardware.
  • Ability to prioritise work and deliver results in a pressurised environment.
