An exciting opportunity at Leicestershire County Council to work as part of the Business Intelligence Development Team. The Development Team is one of three teams in the centralised Business Intelligence Service of around 40 people. The Development Team has three main roles. Firstly, to secure data flows from a broad range of systems on to our Enterprise SQL Server for analysis within the wider BI service. Secondly, implement the adoption of best practice across the BI service. Finally, identify opportunities for the use of new technology in the BI service; for example Machine Learning.  
The role within the Development Team will be to:
  1. Assist in the extraction of data from various operational databases using a variety of techniques. Such as database to database connections, APIs or File Transfers.
  2. To support the management and development of Tableau Server.
  3. Providing first line of support for BI servers and escalating to IT as required.
The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to learn Tableau Desktop, and to use cutting-edge ETL tools such as Integration Services 2016 and Easymorph.  
Whilst previous experience in a similar role is desirable, appropriate training and development would be provided to a candidate who can demonstrate relevant skills and an ability and willingness to learn.

Salary range:
£28,704 to £32,241 depending on experience
