The starting salary is £33,782 rising to £35,745 on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time)

Are you a fully EHORB registered Environmental Health Officer with Housing and HHRS experience, or are you nearing graduation and working towards full qualification and registration?  Are you self-motivated and enthusiastic with a keen desire to improve privately rented housing conditions for the people of Nottingham? If so, your just who we need to join our team of dedicated professional officers.
  
As an Environmental Health Officer you will be responsible for providing premium environmental health, enforcment and compliance, protecting public health and citizen safety.  Improving poor housing and living conditions, preventing nuisance, tackling rogue landlords and ensuring properties are licensed and in compliance with license conditions. 
          
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Extensive Knowledge, understanding and awareness of Environmental legislation and it's application. 
  • Possession of a full driving license (unless disability preludes this) and willingness to travel to various locations in and around the city boundary.
  • A specialism in at least one of the following areas, but with the knowledge and ability to work in any of the fields as listed as requested.  Food Safety, Health and Safety, Housing Standards, Housing Licensing and Compliance and Pollution Control.
  • Demonstrate experience and the ability to direct investigations resulting in prosecutions or other legal sanctions in accordance with relevant procedural and evidential rules.
