The Sustainable Food Partnership Officer role is an exciting opportunity to develop an emerging steering group to become the backbone of our work towards a more sustainable food system. Based in Public Health at Leicestershire County Council, the focus of this role will be the local Good Food Movement – the partners and individuals working towards greater understanding, engagement and action around food – be that food inequalities, improving diets, shortening food supply chains or reducing the climate impact of food.
Leicestershire County Council are part of this Good Food Movement but cannot and should not work on this alone – the Good Food Movement requires all partners to be involved and work towards common aims. Leicestershire County Council work closely with Sustainable Food Places in progressing this work - networking with other members of SFP will be an important part of the success of this role.
You will be a great communicator with broad partnership experience and the ability to progress ideas through to projects enabling different partners to take a lead. Core to this is communicating and celebrating success, and an ability to spot the gaps in the system and the opportunities to try something different.
The Essential Requirements of this external facing role are:
  • Experience of developing, facilitating and leading multi-sector partnership working to ensure integrated and connected community based approaches – either with food projects or a relatable subject.
  • Experience of developing community based approaches (including strategic approaches which can be implemented within Local Authorities) – either with food projects or a relatable subject.
  • Experience of developing partnership working groups and projects including facilitating groups, supporting delivery of actions, gathering impacts and reporting results (including writing case studies).
  • Experience of developing complex project areas e.g. Local Food Economy.
  • Experience of designing coordination services/approaches in the food system or in relatable subjects.
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation of projects and using findings to improve service delivery.
