The starting salary is £18,198 (Level One) rising to £18,562 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.

The IT Service Desk supports over 6000 employees and partners with their IT and telephony requirements, providing a front line IT customer service. Service Desk Apprentices will learn to use a wide variety of technological tools to administer systems, investigate, diagnose and fix issues.  You will be learn customer service skills to provide assistance with dealing with customers over the phone, via self-service support tickets, email and face to face enquiries. Apprentices take part in meetings, supervision, in-house training and undertake a formal apprentice programme of learning provided by a recognised educational establishment.
  
This is great opportunity for anyone with who is interested in working in an IT environment as part of a fast paced front line customer service team, providing excellent customer service and has knowledge and an understanding of IT Systems including hardware and software, along with the ability to troubleshoot basic networking, software, hardware and application problems. You will work as part of a very friendly team in a supported learning environment to develop the technical skills and knowledge required to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification in Information Technology and acquire transferable skills to enable you to secure future employment, alongside gaining knowledge and training to enable you to support and provide system administration for various in house systems including creating/amending/deleting user accounts and various other tasks.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Able to meet the entry requirements of the apprenticeship course and the willingness to attend, undertake and successfully complete a recognised Level 3 qualification through an apprenticeship.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively over the phone, face to face and via email.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT systems and server infrastructure technologies (hardware, software).
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic networking; software and application problems. 
  • Experience of using Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office Products, ideally Office 365.
  • Ability to install, use and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 10.
