Are you over 25? Do you have HGV Class 2 Driving Licence?
No experience required as full training will be given.
The Haulage Operation Team are currently looking to appoint a Specialist HGV Driver.
The post will involve driving a 32-ton Hook Loader (HGV), collecting containers and compactors of various waster material from Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) from around the County. The waste will then be transported to a variety of disposal sites.
You will be delivering the haulage operation based at the Loughborough Waste Transfer Station & Bardon WTS (subject to change). You will be working alongside an established team of HGV drivers and the Waste Transfer Station Team. This role will include working weekends on a rota basis.
Hours of work:
Hours are 40.5hrs per week (36hrs during the winter and 45hrs during the summer)
Overtime available
Applicants interested in part-time driving on a flexible cover basis or at the weekend would be especially welcomed.
Salary: £25,194/annum and retention bonus of £100/month for 2 years payable after successful probation.
  • HGV Licence, Driver CPC and full, valid Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of the HGV Driver Legislation
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to be flexible to respond to the needs of the service
  • Experience in the waste industry would also be beneficial, as would a CPC qualification, but we are happy to help with this!
