Contract Type: Fixed Term for up to 13 Months.
Salary Range: £32,979 – £35,607
High Speed Two (HS2) is a new railway being developed by the Government to provide faster journey times, additional capacity and more carbon efficient trains as part of the UK railway network. 30 km of the new railway is planned to pass through Leicestershire (HS2 phase 2b) and a Service Area has been set up at the County Council to mitigate the local impacts of HS2 and maximise its benefits. This exciting role will support this busy and dynamic team to cover maternity leave for a 13-month period.
Key activities will include leading on community liaison and supporting the HS2 team to deliver Leicestershire County Council’s approach to HS2 Phase 2b; including delivery of a programme of work streams to manage the impact of this national infrastructure project within the County.
The role will support work with partners, residents and businesses to achieve the maximum benefits for Leicestershire from HS2 Phase 2b and minimise the dis-benefits.
  • Ability to managing and deliver a range of stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build powerful relationships across stakeholders, peers and partners.
  • Ability to manage projects in a multi-agency environment.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex information and presenting findings in a variety of formats and to a range of stakeholder audiences.
  • A good understanding of how national and local government operates.
