Family in the Measham area are looking for an additional Personal Support Assistant(s) to join their existing team, part time and/or working as a relief/casual worker. This can be on either a self-employed or employed basis. Salary will be dependent on skills and experience. 
 
Hours are available across the week with 3 – 4 hour shifts in the afternoon. In addition, the family are looking for 1 – 2 evenings per week and additional daytime & evening at the weekend once or twice per month. All shifts are planned in advance. They would ideally like someone regularly each week on a part time and / or relief basis.
 
You will be working with their daughter who has a Learning Disability, Autism and other health conditions, such as high anxiety.  They are looking for a person who is fun and bubbly and able to use initiative to work with her in the home environment with a longer-term plan to support her to access community and social/recreational activities. The expectation will be that you enable her to occupy her day positively, encourage and motivate her to participate in cooking, craft, completing jigsaw puzzles, taking a walk around the local area. 
Willingness to provide personal care and to help prepare light snack/ meals.
 
There are occasions when she can present with challenging behaviours, so you will need to have the right experience to recognise potential triggers and have the patience and resilience to deal with situations appropriately. 
 
This will be a rewarding role for the right person with opportunities to learn and develop new skills. As part of a supportive team you will be providing critical respite support for the family.
  
Enhanced DBS check required (paid for by the funding authority).
   
Family will conduct a telephone interview prior to arranging any face to face meeting.
