Trust Lead Practitioner for SEND

Start date: Summer Term 2021 or September 2021 for the right candidate.
Location: 2 days based at Trust schools as a SENDCo. 3 days working across schools in the Trust.

You will be working within the Flying High Trust Education Team to develop and deliver a strategic vision for SEND across the trust, as part of a wider strategy for Inclusion. You will also be supporting the children, staff and families as a SENDCo to ensure that the SEND provision is meeting the needs of all learners. You will need to be well organised, have loads of resilience and have a positive outlook on life!
  
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a clear vision for SEND that meets the needs of all children
• Has had experience in a range of primary schools as a practicing SENDCo
• Has the National Award for SEND
• Has a secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and how it translates into improving outcomes for children with additional needs
• Can clearly articulate how their vision for children with SEND can be delivered across the trust
• Has had a significant impact within a school(s) as a strategic leader
• Is tenacious in their approach to ensuring all children with SEND have an inclusive education
 
As part of the role you will be expected to:
• Develop a clear and cohesive strategy to deliver your vision for SEND across the trust, as part of a wider strategy for Inclusion,
• Take on the role as a cluster SENDCo within identified schools in the trust, providing exemplary practice
• Support headteachers to improve the effectiveness of SENDCos in schools in line with the trust vision for inclusion
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of current local/national developments for SEND and consider how these can positively impact on the schools across the trust
• Provide ad-hoc support to trust SENDCos, offer advice and carry out solution focused problem solving
• Work with the trust SENDCos to create consistency of approach and high quality provision
• Support headteachers in carrying out SEND reviews, monitor actions and measure impact
• Have a clear understanding of the performance of children with additional needs across the trust and provide strategic support for improvement
• Provide support and training for the Inclusion Specialist Practitioners, maintaining an oversight of the impact of their work.
• Lead on the SEND element of the SCITT programme, shaping the content and delivering where necessary
• Become part of the Education Team providing insight, support and challenge
• Provide up dates at Strategic Heads meetings on current thinking and areas of development
