Leicestershire County Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join the Infrastructure Planning team as the Flood Engagement Officer (Flood Risk Management). The role of the Flood Engagement Officer is to provide support to the flood risk management function, in particular engaging with members of the public and promoting personal resilience and riparian responsibilities. The role will also involve helping to support the delivery of the role of the Lead Local Flood Authority and the delivery of the actions in Leicestershire's Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- NVQ 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject (i.e. BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification) or experience that meets the essential requirement and
- Experience of working in the field of Flood Risk Management or civil engineering
- Collaborative working with customers / clients / stakeholders / key stakeholders to deliver outputs and outcomes.
- Knowledge of current legislation relevant to flooding, drainage planning and the environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel to locations across the County as required
