Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional to join and help lead our well-established IT Technology Delivery team. The post holder will be responsible for a newly formed Desktop Services Team and work alongside other team leaders fulfilling a similar role within the IT Operations function. The role requires an experienced IT Infrastructure leader/line manager with budgetary knowledge to assist in meeting the capacity demands of the IT Service, help deliver an infrastructure to support the council's digital programme and introduce new skillsets into the team to enhance our capability.

Ensuring the council operates a reliable and resilient IT infrastructure to support the organisation and its objectives is key, therefore we are looking for individuals with plenty of drive & energy - not only to lead and motivate technical teams but to push technical & cultural barriers as well as bring innovation. The advertised role is full-time post working 37 hours per week with the occasional need to work outside of usual 9-5 business hours.

You will:
  • In a changing landscape, lead, inspire and motivate a well-established team of IT technicians who are dedicated to providing an excellent IT service.
  • Come with a sound technical and IT management background and be willing to learn and keep on top of new IT innovations.
  • Take on new challenges and work within a high-performance team to deliver high quality outcomes and use agile techniques where possible to deliver important workloads quickly and robustly.
  • Know how to communicate with senior leaders, team managers, other team leaders, service users (both internally and externally) as well as key suppliers and partners.

This is an exciting time and a chance to help re-shape and transform the IT Operations services we provide to Leicestershire County Council and our citizens. In addition to a competitive salary,  annual leave package and pension scheme we offer:

  • Work Life balance - We expect our people to be flexible, but we want you to achieve a good work life balance
  • Career Development and Training - We're looking for experience, but we want you to develop and build a career with us
  • A supportive working environment - We'll give you the tools needed to achieve results
  • A place where you can be yourself - Our people drive our success and we value their individuality
